Opportunity, community, and belonging are bedrock values at Pillsbury. We reward high performance, collegiality, collaboration, and inclusivity, with a prized culture that sets us apart.
Pillsbury 360 is a firmwide commitment to leverage the unique qualities of individuals across our global law firm. We believe this is essential to helping clients and each other effectively pursue opportunities, address challenges and thrive in an ever-changing world. Our approach fosters innovation, encourages the development of creative solutions, and engenders strong external and internal relationships. To make this possible, we seek out and recruit the industry’s top talent with varied backgrounds and experiences. We identify future leaders and invest in professional development to provide opportunities for all to reach their full potential.
PRO BONO
If you have passion to do good, you’ll find plenty of opportunities here. Pillsbury supports a wide range of pro bono and volunteer projects. Our mission is primarily focused on closing the justice gap so the poor and indigent have access to basic legal services. We also take on high-impact civil rights cases, and we assist nonprofit organizations that serve local communities. From associates to senior partners, every lawyer is expected to perform a minimum of 25 hours annually in service to the firm’s pro bono clients, with associates receiving billable-hours credit.
We support the following fellowship for Pillsbury attorneys wanting to devote more time to a public interest and pro bono practice.
- The Pillsbury Social Impact Fellowship allows incoming associates the opportunity to spend a year at a public service organization. Past recipients of these fellowships have advocated for the homeless and the developmentally disabled, provided information on workplace rights to immigrants, and coordinated youth employment law projects.
COMMUNITY
Pillsbury and its offices support a number of nonprofit and charitable organizations. Whether it’s the annual Food From the Bar fundraising competition between San Francisco and Los Angeles, Nashville’s Hands-On volunteer day, climbing stairs for the American Lung Association in Houston, or raising funds for Legal Aid in Washington, DC, people at Pillsbury are generous with time and money.
Through the Pillsbury Foundation, the firm supports programs to end hunger in our local communities and matches individual donations to disaster relief and recovery efforts. We also underwrite an Equal Justice Works fellowship, which helps recent law school graduates launch careers in public interest law. Since 2000, the Pillsbury Foundation has underwritten these two-year fellowships. Over 80% of our fellows have continued their legal careers in public interest law.
