IP Docket Coordinator (2573)
Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP is seeking an IP Docket Coordinator to support the day to day coordination of tasks for the firm’s IP Docketing department. Responsibilities include coordinating the implementation and execution of current docketing processes and procedures; monitoring and coordinating work flow and ensuring all assigned responsibilities for the department are being followed and met on a daily basis; providing guidance and being available as a 1st level response to questions from the IP Docket Specialists and IP Docket Clerks; assisting with mentoring and training of the IP Docket Specialists and IP Docket Clerks; providing training to others outside of the department as needed; reviewing all correspondence/documents within the department for accuracy and making corrections as needed; maintaining an accurate docket database and providing reports as requested or required; opening, reviewing, and distributing mail within the department; ensuring mail is handled timely and routed accurately to specific areas within the Firm; ensuring the accuracy and completeness of docketing correspondence; inputting and verifying deadline dates in the docketing system; following up on all daily filing requirements; assisting in opening new matters and accurately entering data in the docketing database when assisting with the intake of client matters into the Firm; maintaining positive contact with attorneys, staff, and clients; observing confidentiality of Docket Department and Firm matters; and various other tasks as assigned/needed.
Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of IP docketing experience in a law firm. An undergraduate degree is preferred. Prior experience with sophisticated IP docket software is required (e.g., Inprotech, CPI, Patricia, Foundation IP, IP Manager). Inprotech is preferred. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of prosecution and litigation policies and procedures and domestic/international patent, trademark, and post grant matters. Successful candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; have the ability to work under pressure while producing a high volume of information; have the ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality in maintaining contact with clients, attorneys, and staff; and possess a willingness and flexibility to work closely with all departments.
