Pillsbury is seeking a Finance team member to assist with monthly accounting processes by analyzing and researching assigned accounts, preparing state and local tax filings, and participating in external and other compliance audits. The person in this position will maintain General Ledger and accounting records for accounts assigned including identifying and recording necessary journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts at month-end, and perform analytical review of accounts for variances and unusual activity. Other responsibilities of the position include data entry and reconciliation of fixed assets system to general ledger, review foreign office checkbook transactions, perform bank reconciliations for assigned accounts, prepare sales & use tax returns for various states, assist with personal property and business taxes, manage escheatment check process for all bank accounts, support year-end external audits (US and International) and other compliance audits, and assist with other activities as assigned to support the Finance Department.
Candidate should have college level courses in accounting or related experience and 3+ years accounting experience in a general ledger systems environment, preferably in a large legal services or professional services company. Successful candidate will have strong computer skills (Excel), experience with Microsoft Office, accurate typing and keyboard skills, and experience using 10-key calculator by touch. Experience with the Aderant system is preferred. Must have the ability to self-direct and prioritize tasks, work without supervision and with individuals at all levels of the organization, and work as part of a team. Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, and have the ability to lift/carry file boxes (25 lbs max).
